Fluke BT510 Battery Analyzer

The Fluke BT510 is the basic model in the Fluke 500 series for testing battery systems. It is used to measure a battery's internal resistance and battery voltage to assess whether a battery or battery string is starting to weaken before it causes operational problems.

Measuring internal resistance provides an indication of the battery's condition, while voltage measurement shows whether each part of the system is within its specified range. This makes the instrument relevant for maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection of stationary battery systems, where it's crucial to react before a system fails.

The BT510 can also measure DC voltage up to 600 V, as well as AC voltage and ripple at 600 V. This means it's not only used for the battery measurement itself but also for common electrical checks that often accompany work on battery systems.

The instrument has several measurement modes, including meter mode, sequence mode, discharge measurement mode, AutoHold, and AutoSave. This facilitates systematic work and saving measurements as you go. Data can be transferred via USB and managed using Fluke's battery management software.

For a technician, the BT510 is therefore most appealing when regular checks of battery banks are needed, and where a handheld solution that combines the most important battery measurements in one place is desired.
