Licron Crystal — Permanent ESD-Safe Coating
Licron Crystal from TECHSPRAY is a permanent, urethane-based ESD-safe coating. The product is supplied in 1-gallon liquid packaging under the manufacturer's part number 1756-G. The coating cures to a clear, glossy surface and is stated to provide a surface resistance in the range of 10^6 to 10^9 ohms.
Technical Description
- Type: Permanent urethane-based ESD coating
- Manufacturer/Part Number: TECHSPRAY, 1756-G (1 gallon liquid)
- Surface Resistance: 10^6 to 10^9 ohms (as stated by the manufacturer)
- Max. Operating Temperature: up to 302°F (155°C)
- Coverage: 1 gallon @ 1 mil wet film ≈ 1600 sq ft; @ 2 mil ≈ 800 sq ft
Typical Applications
- Electronic Assembly Work Stations
- Bins, Carts, and Trays
- Work Enclosures, Including Plexi-Glass
- Packaging for Sensitive Components
- Production Conveyors & Bumpers
- Static Protection for Electronic Devices
Application and Curing Notes
The surface must be dry and free of dirt, grease, and oil before application. The manufacturer's instructions state that an even, lightly applied coating typically provides the desired resistivity. Allow 24 hours full drying at room temperature (70°F/21°C) for full cure; faster curing can be achieved by oven treatment at 120°–150°F for 1–2 hours. Please note that heavy application or application in high relative humidity may result in haziness of the layer.
