Fluke 1623-2 GEO Earth Tester

The Fluke 1623-2 is an earth tester for measuring earthing systems and earth electrodes. In practice, it is used to check if the earthing connection is working correctly and to assess earth resistance in installations where earthing is important for safe operation and troubleshooting.

The instrument can be used in several ways. With stakes, it measures earth resistance using the 3-pole and 4-pole methods, and it can also be used for soil resistivity. Additionally, it can perform selective measurements with one clamp and stakeless measurements with two clamps. The stakeless method is particularly practical when it is difficult or impossible to insert earth spikes, as the measurement itself is performed with clamps around the earthing connection.

This makes the instrument relevant for work on fixed installations, in the field, and other locations where traditional measurement stakes may be cumbersome to use. The LCD display and internal memory make it easier to save and retrieve measurements, and the USB connection is used for transferring up to 1500 readings. The included protective case is IP56-rated, providing better protection for the equipment in harsher environments.

Measuring leads, batteries, a quick start guide, a user manual, and a USB cable are included, so the instrument is ready for general fieldwork from the start.
