GW-INSTEK GPT-9802
The GW-INSTEK GPT-9802 is a high-voltage tester for AC/DC withstand tests. It is used to check whether an item can withstand the applied test voltage without breakdown. In practice, it is a measuring and testing device that provides a controlled high AC or DC voltage while simultaneously monitoring the current during the test.
On the AC side, it operates with a voltage range from 0.050 kV to 5.000 kV AC. On the DC side, the range goes from 0.050 kV to 6.000 kV DC. For AC withstand, the specified maximum load is 200 VA at 5 kV / 40 mA, and for DC withstand, it is 50 W at 5 kV / 10 mA. This makes the model relevant for voltage testing in professional production or test setups where control over both voltage and leakage current is required.
There are also a number of features that make the test more practical to work with. ARC detect can identify arcs, and the window comparator method is used to determine if the result is within the set limits. A front panel with a remote terminal and signal I/O port allows the instrument to be integrated into a controlled test setup, and standard interfaces such as RS-232C and USB device are available. GPIB is available as an option.
The front features a 240 x 64 dot-matrix LCD with backlighting, so test data can be read directly. The cabinet measures 330 x 148 x 452 mm, and the weight is approximately 19 kg.
